COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Pembroke hands out Youth and Civic Awards

The hardware has been handed out for the 2023 edition of the Pembroke Civic and Youth Awards. 13 awards were handed out on Monday night as part of a special ceremony at the Best Western. Mayor Ron Gervais says it was great to back to in person events like these.

Civic award winners were given a certificate and a hand crafted memento. Youth award winners were also presented with a cheque. myFM spoke with Norbert Chaput with the Silver Stick committee, who nominated the Young Athlete Award. He tells us that it's important to recognize these brilliant youngsters.

Local musician Sierra Levesque took home the hardware in the Arts and Literature category. She tells myFM that she’ll always support the city she grew up in.

Awards will once again be presented in 2024. Stay tuned for when the nomination process begins.
